Can you produce both a website film and social cuts?
Yes, and they are edited separately. A site hero and a vertical social cut are different edits, not the same one cropped.
Will video slow my site down?
Not if it is handled properly. Compression, poster frames and playback are part of the delivery, which is the difference between film that sells and film that costs you the page speed.
