Beziique — website designed and built by STRATEX

The brief

Fifteen years of shooting produces an enormous archive and, on an established site, an enormous number of indexed URLs. Rebuilding a photography business of that age is as much an archive-migration problem as a design problem: the new site has to show the work better without discarding the search equity the old one accumulated.

What we built

We rebuilt the portfolio around the images, keeping the existing URL structure — including the blog category paths and individual wedding stories — so that years of accumulated links and rankings survive the move rather than being redirected away. Both photographers get their own presence, the archive of real weddings is preserved as browsable stories, and pricing is addressed openly.

What Each Part Does

01

URL-preserving rebuild

The existing path structure, including category and individual wedding-story URLs, carried across intact so the archive’s search equity is not thrown away.

02

Wedding story archive

Individual weddings preserved as full stories — the real proof for a couple deciding between photographers.

03

Category browsing

Wedding and engagement work separated so visitors can find the kind of shoot they are actually booking.

04

Two photographers, two presences

Nick and Aimie each given their own page, since couples often choose a specific photographer rather than a studio.

05

Investment page

Pricing addressed directly rather than deferred to an enquiry, filtering the enquiries that arrive.

06

Sneak peeks

A fast-turnaround section for recent work, giving the site a reason to be current between full galleries.

  • Portfolio architecture
  • Image performance
  • Technical SEO

How it was built

  • Every page on the old site keeps the exact same web address on the new one, down to the slash at the end — so the links other websites built up over fifteen years still land on the right page, and Google isn’t asked to learn the site from scratch. It doesn’t push rankings up on its own; it stops a rebuild from costing the ones already earned.
  • Photographs are sent at the size the visitor’s screen actually needs rather than at full resolution, so a gallery opens quickly on a phone rather than stalling while full-size files download. On a photography site the pictures are the pitch, and someone who gives up before they appear has seen nothing worth booking.
  • The rebuild is live on a temporary web address, and the business’s own domain still points at the old site. Until that domain is switched across, none of the preserved addresses are doing any work — that switch is the one step between this build and the result it was designed for.
