The brief
One business selling two unrelated jobs to two people in different frames of mind. A homeowner with water coming through a ceiling wants it looked at this week and is searching for a roofer. Somebody imagining a patio is thinking about spring, and is searching for a landscaper. Sold together on one page, each reads the other as the real business and themselves as the sideline. The geography compounds it: Kent, London and Essex are three separate search markets, and a page that says all three at once competes properly in none of them.
What we built
We split it at the level the buyer does. Roofing and landscaping get a page each, and each names the individual jobs it covers rather than describing itself in general terms — so the site can be found for “flat roofs” or “garden clearance” rather than only for the trade. Kent, London and Essex get a page each on top of that. Every route ends at the same quote, reachable by phone, by email or through WhatsApp with the first message already written — and that message asks for a postcode, because the county is what decides whether the job is one they can take.
What Each Part Does
Two trades, two pages
Roofing and landscaping presented as separate practices under a shared standard of work, rather than as one list a visitor has to sort themselves.
The jobs named individually
Roofing covers repairs, replacements, maintenance, inspections, flat roofs, fascias and soffits, and guttering. Landscaping covers patios, fencing, pergolas, garden maintenance, clearance and restoration. Each is declared as its own service, not buried in a paragraph.
A page per county
Kent, London and Essex each get their own page, so the site competes in three markets instead of averaging across them.
A quote that starts with a postcode
Phone, email and a WhatsApp link with the opening message pre-written and the postcode asked for up front — the detail that decides whether a job is takeable, requested before the conversation starts.
The process in three steps
Conversation, a clear plan with a free quote, then the work — set out on the homepage so a homeowner knows what happens after they get in touch.
Insured and quoting free, said early
The two things a homeowner checks before letting a trade onto the property, on screen in the hero rather than on a page they have to go looking for.

How it was built
- Each service page carries a machine-readable catalogue of the jobs on it — every one named as its own service with its own offer, and the counties it is offered in attached to each. It is the same list the visitor reads, written in the format search engines treat as facts, so the site can surface for a specific job in a specific place rather than only for the trade.
- The area pages and the service pages are built from one template each, so a fourth county or another job is a matter of writing the words rather than building a page. Breadcrumbs on every inner page mean somebody who lands on the Kent page from a search sees where it sits and can get to the rest.
- The apex redirects to www and the canonical on every page names www to match. Those two agreeing is what stops the site telling search engines its preferred address is one that immediately redirects away — a small thing that quietly splits a site’s search equity when it goes wrong.
